Communications Intern

Growing up creativity was always something that piqued my interest. If art, design, or brainstorming a new idea was involved; I was the first one to volunteer. As I explored different career paths and interests, I discovered marketing provided the perfect balance between creativity and the organization and structure that also helped me thrive. During this journey, I also found a new passion; the psychology of the human mind. Learning about the mind’s behaviors, motivations, and decision-making tactics captivated me and I was determined to find an avenue to incorporate this interest into my future career. These passions ultimately led me to pursue a degree in marketing, management, and marketing analytics. Marketing appealed to me as it was the bridge between creativity and consumer psychology; as consumer behavior studies what attracts and deters consumers from brands and how companies can create meaningful relationships with their audience. Throughout my academic studies, I was able to deepen my understanding of psychology and its strong ties to communication. I learn more about human behavior every day, while also expressing my creativity through graphic decisions, content creation, and promotional initiatives. I am excited to see how the concepts, strategies, and skills I developed over the course of my academic career now translate into my professional career. I hope to gain hands-on experiences and learn how effective communication can strengthen outreach, support communities, advance meaningful initiatives, and create a positive impact on our communities.
